Surrogacy involves a woman who carries a child to term and then relinquishes the baby to the intended parent(s) upon delivery. There are two main types of surrogacy: traditional and gestational. The traditional surrogate mother is genetically related to the child she is carrying, while a Gestational Surrogate is not. The Intended Parents will create the embryo(s) from IVF (In vitro-fertilization) with the eggs of the intended mother or an egg donor, which is then transferred into the Surrogate’s uterus. At IVY Surrogacy, we only offer gestational surrogates.
You will be required to meet certain health and lifestyle standards to ensure that you could not only go through fertility treatments and medical preparation for the pregnancy, but also carry a healthy child to term with no complications. IVY Surrogacy primarily works with southern California IVF centers; however, we also work with centers in northern California and on occasion centers in the east coast. You will need to travel if you do not live close to the IVF center for medical screening and embryo transfer procedure. However, you will never be matched with a family when travel required unless you are willing to travel. If travel needed, all the expenses will be paid by the intended parents.
IVY Surrogacy requires all intended parents to fund an escrow or attorney-client trust account once matched with you. Surrogate fees and reimbursements are paid monthly from the trust account, with medical bills being paid once submitted to us over the course of each month as well.
