premature baby boy born in Long Beach

On October 1, 2025, a baby boy was born in Long Beach, California, at 32 weeks and 5 days via an emergency C-section. During a routine prenatal check-up, the medical team noticed his heart rate slowing down, prompting doctors to take immediate action to ensure his safety.

He weighed 2 lb 3 oz at birth, which is lighter than expected for his gestational age. Earlier in the pregnancy, during the anatomy scan, his growth had still been within the normal range. Doctors believe that the unexpected drop in weight may have been related to insufficient placental blood flow.

Although his weight is lower than anticipated, we are relieved that his lungs appear to be functioning well. He was admitted to the NICU for specialized care but does not require supplemental oxygen—an encouraging sign of his development.

As this situation came suddenly, the intended parents have not yet arrived in the U.S. Our team immediately coordinated with legal counsel to arrange a Power of Attorney (POA), allowing us to support the baby during this critical period. Tomorrow, our case manager will visit the hospital to see him.

Every premature birth brings its own challenges, but this little fighter is already showing resilience. We look forward to the day when his parents can finally hold him in their arms.
